Microsoft Brings Major Upgrades to Copilot: Memory, Search Connectors, & Much More!
If you’ve been using Microsoft Copilot lately, get ready for a noticeable change.
Microsoft has rolled out a major update that makes its AI assistant a lot more personal, connected, and team friendly. Think of it as your digital sidekick getting a serious brain boost.
Mustafa Suleyman, who heads Microsoft AI, summed it up perfectly: technology should serve people—not the other way around. And that idea shines through in what Copilot can do now.
One of the new features is the long-term memory. Copilot can now recall details you share — like your goals, routines, or ongoing projects — and bring them up later when you need them. Planning a marathon, tracking a product launch, or organizing a trip? Copilot can remember the context so that you don’t have to start from scratch every time. Plus, you control what it stores and can edit or delete memories whenever you want.
Then there’s the new search experience. With smart connectors, Copilot can pull information from OneDrive, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar all in one go. No more jumping between tabs or inboxes to find that one file or message—you can just ask.
Over in Edge, Copilot Mode is evolving into a full-fledged AI browser. It can check your tabs, summarize what you’re reading, or even help you fill forms and book hotels—all with your permission, of course.
Collaboration is another focus. The new Groups feature allows up to 32 people to share a Copilot session, so teammates can brainstorm or co-write in real time with AI helping everyone at once.
For learners, there’s Learn Live, a voice-based tutoring feature that helps study smarter, and new health tools that pull from credible sources like Harvard Health. And, there’s even a new animated character, Mico, that reacts to your voice while you chat.
The update is already rolling out in the U.S., with more regions next in line. It’s clear that Microsoft wants Copilot to move from being just an assistant to being your everyday AI collaborator.
