Alibaba Unveils Qwen3.8-Max, Its Most Powerful AI Model Yet

Alibaba has unveiled Qwen3.8-Max, its most powerful AI model to date. The flagship model features 2.4 trillion parameters, a 1-million-token context window, and native multimodal capabilities for processing text, images, and other visual information. Alibaba says Qwen3.8-Max delivers major improvements in coding, research, workplace tasks, and long-horizon agentic workflows. The model is currently available through Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio APIs, while its weights are scheduled for open-source release, giving developers broader access to the technology. 

The launch also highlights Alibaba’s growing focus on agentic AI, with Qwen3.8-Max designed to handle complex tasks with greater autonomy. The model can also be experienced through QwenWork, Alibaba’s new workplace AI agent platform.
